Meriem is a professional oriental dancer with over a decade of experience. She began her career at the age of 15 in Rabat and Casablanca before moving to Montreal, where her journey gained significant momentum.

From a young age, Meriem showed a keen interest in dance. Her learning journey started at the age of 6 in her hometown of Casablanca, where she discovered her passion for oriental dance. This enthusiasm led her to explore other dance styles, including Latin dances like salsa, jazz, and bachata. This exploration allowed her to develop a creative vision for oriental dance. By the age of 15, she began working on choreographies that fused oriental dance with tango, salsa, bachata and more. She participated in workshops both in Morocco and internationally, notably in Egypt, collaborating with renowned stars such as Dina, Randa Kamel, Fifi Abdou, and Raqia Hassan. Due to her skills, Meriem was even invited to serve on the jury for international oriental dance competitions in Dubai .

Not content with her experiences in Egypt, upon returning from her Middle Eastern tour, Meriem decided to travel across Morocco to visit various tribes and explore the rich diversity of local dances. These explorations became the focal point of her new project, “Moroccan Dance.” In her quest to celebrate the richness of Moroccan culture, she introduced Amazigh influences and created the Troupe Tarbalout, the first traditional Moroccan ballet, showcasing various Moroccan dance styles: Sahraoui, Chamali, and Chikhat Raggada.

Today, Meriem is a respected oriental dancer within the dance community in Montreal, known for her exceptional technique, elegance, and charisma. She also teaches oriental dance to students of all levels and ages, sharing her passion and expertise with the next generation of dancers.

In addition to her performances and classes, Meriem is dedicated to promoting oriental dance as both an art form and a tool for physical and mental well-being. She regularly organizes events and workshops to raise awareness about this expressive and therapeutic form of dance.
